FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY PERMANENT MAKEUP APPOINTMENT?

10 DAYS BEFORE:

  • BOTOX: If you regularly get Botox or Dysport, it must be done at least 10 days prior to your appointment.

  • WAXING/THREADING: There is no need to have your brows cleaned up prior to your appointment. It is best to see how your brows grow naturally; we will clean them up for you at your appointment. If you tint your brows consistently, please do so at least 7 days prior.

  • RETIN-A: Please refrain from using any retin-a products in the brow area for 10 days leading up to your appointment.

24 HOURS BEFORE:

  • To minimize bleeding during the procedure, please avoid any alcohol, blood thinning medications such as Ibuprofen, Aspirin or Advil and excessive caffeine.

DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT:

  • You won’t be able to get your permanent makeup wet for the next 10-14 days, wash your hair beforehand to give yourself a few extra days before your next wash.

  • Avoid exercise. Exercising increases blood flow and will cause excessive bleeding, leading to poor healed results.

  • Avoid caffeine a few hours prior to your appointment.

  • Makeup: You are welcome to come to your appointment with or without makeup on. If you regularly fill in your brows, coming with them filled in helps me see what you are comfortable with.

DOES PERMANENT MAKEUP HURT?

Most clients report little to no pain throughout their procedure. While pain tolerance varies between clients, a medical grade numbing cream is used throughout the procedure to make sure you’re comfortable the entire time.

DO I CHOOSE MICROBLADING or Nano brows?

Microblading is meant to be a natural enhancement, to perfect shape and/or add fullness to the brows. The more hair you have, the more natural it will appear. Microblading heals best on young, normal/dry skin. Those with combination/oily or aging skin are not great candidates for microblading, and are better suited for Nano Brows.

Nano Brows are great for everyone, including those with oily skin or mature skin. For those who have naturally sparse brow hair or uneven brow growth, the pixelated hair stokes with added soft shading creates a very natural 3D appearance. Nano brows are becoming increasing popular due to very minimal skin trauma, little to no bleeding, and less pigment deposited. The healed results stay beautiful long term.

Each technique is beautiful and natural, and can last several years depending on lifestyle and skin type.

HOW LONG DOES PERMANENT MAKEUP LAST?

Permanent makeup is designed to fade over time, but is still considered a tattoo. Your permanent makeup will typically last 1-3 years. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, age, metabolism, medications, and pigment color can affect the longevity of the tattoo. Harsh topical skin care products around the area, unprotected UV exposure, and improper aftercare can affect the rate at which the pigments are broken down.

*Please note that final results vary and CANNOT be guaranteed due to the nature of skin as it heals.

  • Oily Skin: Increased oil production can cause hair strokes to blur and fade very quickly, or not stick at all. If you have combination or oily skin, you are a better candidate for nano brows.

  • Sun Exposure: Increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading. Protect your healed brows from the sun by applying sunscreen.

  • Excessive Bleeding: Excessive bleeding during your procedure will greatly affect how your body retains pigment. Pinpoint bleeding throughout the procedure is normal, but excessive bleeding causes pigment to fade very quickly and heal ashy. While bleeding is not entirely in our control, it is important that you follow before care instructions to help minimize bleeding. This includes avoiding blood thinning medications and alcohol 24 hours before your procedure.

  • Improper Pre and Post Care: Not following the given pre and post care instructions will greatly diminish your healed results. Follow all instructions exactly for the best results!
