PICO Laser FOR MELASMA and SUN DAMAGE

Pico Laser for pigmentation at Sorella Med spa

Natural aging and environmental stressors eventually lead to degenerated skin that has excess melanin accumulation in the epidermis and/or dermis, slower cellular turnover, and decreased collagen and elastin production. With 10x the power of the original PicoSure, The PicoSure Pro can target each of these concerns and successfully revitalize the skin to reverse some of the visible signs of aging.

How does the PicoSure Pro work?

The PicoSure Pro device delivers 755nm energy in picoseconds; the delivery is so quick that it spares the skin from high thermal damage while optimally targeting unwanted pigment, wrinkles, acne scars and pores with less downtime than traditional lasers.

Unwanted pigment is shattered into tiny particles that are more easily eliminated by the body’s natural detoxification system. This is a very different approach compared to other lasers, which rely solely on heat to destroy unwanted melanin (pigment).

WHAT IS MELASMA?

Melasma is a common skin condition characterized by the formation of brown or gray-brown patches, primarily on the face. It occurs due to an overproduction of melanin, the pigment responsible for skin color. Melasma is often triggered by hormonal changes, sun exposure, and genetic factors, making it especially prevalent in women, particularly during pregnancy or while using birth control pills.

Affected areas typically include the cheeks, forehead, nose, and upper lip. While melasma is not harmful, it can cause cosmetic concerns for those affected.

Because the PicoSure Pro uses pressure to break up dermal pigment and NOT HEAT, it is the ONLY FDA APPROVED laser to treat melasma in all skin types.

Am I a Candidate for the picosure pro?

By the time we reach our mid-30s, we begin to notice discoloration, wrinkles, freckles, or an uneven skin tone due to sun exposure, genetic factors, and environmental pollution. These conditions can make people look older, especially when they appear on areas of the body such as the neck and chest. The PicoSure Pro is an incredible option for anyone looking to reverse these signs of aging with no downtime.

What is the difference between the PicoSure Pro and other Pico lasers?

  • The PicoSure Pro treatments have minimal downtime

  • The Technology uses pressure to break up pigment and revitalize skin, not heat

  • PicoSure Pro laser treatments are safe for ALL skin types

  • It is the ONLY laser that is FDA approved to treat melasma, Nevus of Ota and Hori’s Nevus

  • PicoSure Pro is the SAFEST laser treatment available as there is no thermal mechanism
